XC Warrior Challenge 4K Race Information

Description

The first XC Warrior Challenge, 4K public cross country race is being run in conjunction with the scholastic races of the 50th McDaniel-Baxter Invitational at Chenango Valley High School (previously known as the McDaniel Invitational and originally known as the CV Invitational).

The XC Warrior Challenge is a fundraising and spirit event sponsored by the Chenango Valley Athletic Club. Community members, agencies, and groups are encouraged to join in the challenge as a team or as individual runners. All proceeds go to support Chenango Valley Athletics. Champions from the history of the McDaniel-Baxter invite will have their entry fee waived for this 50th anniversary celebration.

Event

Challenging 4K cross country course with hills, inclining and declining slopes.

Team Challenge

The race will feature traditional cross country scoring for teams of 5 or more.

Awards

  • Top three teams in each category
    Team categories: male, female, and mixed teams.
  • Top three overall male and female finishers
  • Top age group winner for male and female: under 17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Individual Runners

Individuals are welcome to race unattached.

FREE Fun Run

600m run for children 12 and under following 4K race

Parking

Parking is available on campus in the front and side school lots and on the Rock Pile.

Registration Information

Register

Pre-Register online before August 30 to receive a free race T-shirt. Please indicate shirt size(s) when registering. Day of registration will be available between 9:30 –10:30 am at the registration tent.

Teams should register together online under your team name.

Entry Fee

  • $20 per person before September 13
  • $25 per person after September 13 through race day.

Packet Pick-up

Please pick up packets on race day starting at 9:30. Packets and day-of registration will be at the registration tent near the finish line by the multipurpose field.

In registering as a participant and in consideration of being permitted by the Chenango Valley Athletic Club (CVAC) to participate in the XC Warrior Challenge, I voluntarily agree to assume all risks in and incidental to participation in this activity. Moreover, I release CVAC, Chenango Valley Central Schools, its officers, employees, agents, assistants, and successors from all claims of damage, demands, and actions whatsoever, whether such damage be known or unknown. This also includes attorney’s fees in any matter arising out of or resulting from or in connection with my participation in the XC Warrior Challenge.

All participants are encouraged to take part in activities to the extent of their personal interest and fitness ability. Certain risks of injury are inherent to participation in any fitness and physical activities. Types and extent of injuries may be minor or serious and may result from one’s own actions, the actions of others or a combination of both. In a voluntary program, participants are required to assume responsibility for their own well-being and safety. You are responsible for determining if you should start or continue any activity. Consult your physician on matters regarding your personal health status.

I have full knowledge of risks involved with this activity, and I am physically fit and sufficiently informed to participate. I fully state that I am personally responsible for all risks of injury or damage to person or property in any way arising out of my participation in this activity.
